Why collect donations in the USA ?

You will find below an introduction to the Foundation Casip-Cojasor, allowing you to measure the history and the « Today ».

Why Foundation Casip-Cojasor has decided to collect donations in the USA through our US based ‘Friends of CASIP-COJASOR Inc’.?

Few multiple reasons :

Donations from benefactors in France are no longer sufficient to meet new requests for financial aid for social services.
•The number of new applications has significantly increased. Comparison: January to September 2023/January to September 2024:
a)Elderly population: +67% increase (from 249 to 417)
b)Family +44% increase (from 209 to 301)
•Additional donations are required to cover funeral costs for 20 people in 2025. The average cost is 5,000 € per person per funeral.
•The Casip Daytime Welcome Center is entirely financed from private funds. ~ 100K€ per year is required to keep the center open and active.
•Within the Casip disability sector, more rooms adapted for individuals with disabilities must be added in residential homes and establishments.

Here is a concrete situation:

Mr. and Mrs. C. are the parents of a large number of children. The family lived in Ukraine when the war broke out. They took refuge in France in March 2022. The social service supported them upon their arrival. Their essential needs were taken care of thanks to community coordination: regularization on French soil, hotel accommodation, food and clothing assistance, medical care and the schooling of a teenager, Ava.

The adult children left to live in Israel. The parental couple and two minor children, Ava and Esther, remained in France. Mr. C. suffers from several physical illnesses and one of the children has a mental disability.

After the emergency, comes the time to build a future in France: the search for more stable housing that is more adapted to disabilities, medical care for several pathologies for Mr. C, care for Esther who is disabled to allow her to be accompanied in an appropriate manner during the day, also to allow the mother to be able to start a professional activity, the opening of common rights both concerning health and various allowances.

Social support work is based on the ability of people to mobilize, support them in carrying out their project and inform them about the concrete possibilities of actions so that they can adapt their project to reality to make informed choices. Social work also consists of working in partnership. Thus, all community partners identified as being able to provide a specific solution were called upon and responded. Public service mechanisms were also activated. Today, two and a half years after the start of the action, the family is regularized on French soil, they live in temporary accommodation, Mrs. C works, Mr. C has suitable medical follow-up, Ava is in school, Esther is in a suitable establishment during the day, rights are open. At that time, war broke out in Israel. This family shows real resilience, they morally support their adult children who are now combatants for Tsahal. Facing two wars in two years is a terrible ordeal. The added value of CASIP-COJASOR support lies in the identity-based consideration of the issues with suitable listening as well as the knowledge of the possibilities of community and public responses made possible thanks to qualified and committed professionals. The work continues. To access permanent housing, the family’s resources must increase with full-time work for Mrs. C., Mr. C. being unable to work. The difficulty lies in making a full-time activity compatible with supporting a child with a disability, but we are hopeful that we will succeed thanks to the combined energy of this family and our teams.

Finally, we have a project for 2030 to open a CASIP West center (Paris west : Neuilly/Paris 17/Levallois) to meet the expressed and growing needs of single and isolated people in the community in this area not covered by Casip. (We are very present in eastern Paris).

By giving to Friends of Casip-Cojasor Inc., 100% of your donations are donated to our social services in France.
